The other "O"

I've never been one to really step my foot into the whole "oil" battle. What are the alternatives? What can we do about it? And there is the whole war issue. But I am not going to get into that. I don't want to reall delve into politics really. But I ran across this article and felt I had to at least share the link.

The article is long, but informative and also extremely scary. It's not just an issue that we will be able to ignore anymore. It is at the forefront of our generation.

"The subsoil near the water is so saturated with toxins that you can light it on fire. "

"At the expected rate of pumping, it will take at least twenty years to suck out the rest of Exxon’s 'free product' from the ground."

That said, I consume oil with my Toyota Tacoma. I'm not going to feel guilty about our country's infrastructure and DOT mistakes + mishaps. But it does make you think about the pedal. And it doesn't mean you cannot change things. Ignorance is bliss.
