"I can't continue with you if you don't rid yourselves of the cursed things. "
-Joshua 7:12 (paraphrased - The Message)

Joshua is a fighter. He is also a man. He leads an entire nation across a river, takes down the immense city of Jericho and goes in to take out an army that seems so minuscule after what he thought he had just accomplished. Almost 40 of his people die, and he rips the clothes off his back in frustration + anger. It sounds familar- Joshua's "why" question.

But our Father simply answers him, "I can't continue with you if you don't rid yourselves of the cursed things."

Sometimes it's so easy to see these "cursed things." Sometimes it's the hardest to see through this thick fog of busyness or weariness or fearfulness or all of the above. And so here we are, failed beings in a fallen world...

Asking why.
